Maurizio's terracotta sugar bowl is the one for everyday sugar. Not hidden away in the good cupboard, but on the breakfast table next to the coffee pot, always ready.
 
Terracotta keeps sugar dry: the porous clay regulates moisture and stops it forming that solid lump that won't break up. The same logic as the garlic pot: terracotta keeps things better than any plastic.
 
Handmade by Maurizio in Altomonte. A simple shape with a well-fitting lid. The small variations in the glaze are those of an object made without moulds.
 
Use it every morning, for coffee, tea and breakfast. It belongs on the table, not in the cupboard.
