The terracotta money box is for people who take saving seriously. No little door underneath, no key: just a slot at the top. To open it, you have to break it. The way it used to be done, and the way it still works today.
 
Maurizio makes it by hand in Altomonte, with clay from his workshop. The shape is simple and it feels just right in your hand. The small imperfections on the surface show it wasn't made in a mould.
 
Give it to children, keep it on the chest of drawers, or give it as a present to someone starting something new. Or use it yourself, to collect whatever is left over at the end of the day.
 
A money box that lasts. And when it breaks, it has done its job.
