A square plate says something even before the food is set down. It's not the choice of someone who hasn't thought about it. It's a piece that changes the way you look at the table. In terracotta, it also changes the way you feel it. Food sits differently on it: it doesn't slide, it settles. A piece of cheese, warm bread, an appetizer. The geometric shape softens against the material, and what's left is an object that holds the center of the table without making a fuss.
 

 
Every plate is handmade by Maurizio on the wheel, using local clay. The irregularities along the edge, the small variations in the surface, are the artisan's signature. No two pieces are ever the same.
 

 
Use it for appetizers, cheeses, bruschette, main courses. Or simply to set something good down and leave it there, at the center of the table, while everyone chats. A plate with character. Even before the food arrives on it.
