In Calabria terracotta cups were for everyday use. For fruit just picked from the garden, for legumes, for festival sweets. Terracotta keeps things cool without losing it, warms slowly and gives back heat just as slowly. It was the right material for a kitchen that was never in a hurry.
 
 
 
This one is dove grey: the natural color of the worked clay. A warm, discreet tone that goes with everything without demanding attention. Each piece is handmade by Maurizio: the rim is never perfectly even, the surface carries the marks of the wheel. That's what makes it alive.
 
 
 
It goes at the center of the table with whatever's there inside: fruit, olives, bread. Or it serves for carrying, for setting down, for letting the eye rest on it before the hands do.
