This mug is made by Maurizio in Altomonte, with clay and a pedal-powered wheel. Every decoration is hand-painted before firing. No two pieces are identical: each mug is a one-of-a-kind piece, made in a limited quantity.
 

 
Altomonte is a village in the inland area of Cosenza, among the mountains of Calabria. It has a long history, a historic center overlooking the valley, and a ceramic tradition that Maurizio has carried forward for years in his workshop. The decorations on the Limited Edition mugs come from there: coats of arms, local symbols, details born from that history and that land.
 

 
The clay has a precise color and texture. Firing takes place in the workshop's own kiln. The result is a mug with a weight in the hand unlike any other: solid, warm, present. It's used for coffee, for tea, for breakfast. Or simply kept on display, because it's a beautiful piece to look at. An object that comes from a specific place. And it shows.
