In Calabria terracotta bowls were the first ones. The everyday kind, the ones for the daily table, for real cooking. They didn't stay in the good cupboard: they were always out, always ready. Resistant to heat, to daily use, to time.
 
 
 
Maurizio still makes them this way. By hand, on the pedal wheel, one at a time. The shape is simple because simplicity is already enough. The small irregularities on the rim, the variations on the surface are the marks of an object made by hands, not by a machine.
 
 
 
Used for everything: for pasta, for soups, for fruit. For bringing something to the table the way it used to be done, without ceremony.
